Water supplies and access to clean drinking water and sanitation remains a struggle for many countries on the continent. Water Aid’s 2016 report mentions that eight out of the top 10 countries with the greatest percentage of people living without access to safe water are in Africa. Further to this, the top 10 countries with the worst access to toilets are in sub-Saharan Africa. So in what ways can water consumption be reduced and access to water be increased? How will Africa solve its water crisis?
