'100% chance' that Rio Olympics will spread Zika Virus

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

A health expert has warned that there's a "100% chance" that the Rio Olympics will spread the Zika virus. Dr Amir Attaran is professor of law and medicine at the University of Ottawa in Canada. He's one of more than 100 scientists who have signed a letter urging the World Health Organisation to consider whether the Olympics Games should be postponed or moved from Rio de Janeiro because of the Zika virus threat. Dr Attaran says "Rio is not safe" and the Games would provide the "perfect conditions" to help the virus spread. This clip is originally from 5 Live's Stephen Nolan Programme on Friday 27th May 2016.
