S-21 Prison: a survivor's story

World Update

Available for over a year

As "Comrade Duch", the man who ran S-21 Prison testifies in front of a war crimes tribunal, Chum Mey, one of only a handful of survivors from the prison, remembers the brutality of life under the Khmer Rouge. He was tortured into forced confessions, witnessed his own wife's killing and was forced to suck moisture from tree leaves to survive as he fled the regime.
