Muslims choosing to have shorter fasts

Asian Network Reports

Available for over a year

For the last couple of years, Muslims fasting for Ramadan in the UK have done so for around 18 hours a day. But now a small but apparently growing number are keeping shorter fasts. They do it by using a foreign timetable instead of a UK-based one, or by fasting for the number of hours they are comfortable with. Some senior Islamic clergymen say they will now review fasting timetables because of it. Asian Network's Rahila Bano is in Blackburn and has more.
