Could a US-UK Trade Deal Be Fast-Tracked?

World Business Report

Available for over a year

When Donald Trump came out in support of Brexit - not everyone on the "leave" side in Great Britain was over-joyed. In fact, quite a lot of people who were urging voters in the UK to stay in the European Union thought that Mr. Trump's support for their opponents would actually be something of a curse. Whether or not he influenced the result - he did pick the winning side. And now he's contradicting President Obama, who said if Britain voted out, it will be at the back of the queue for a trade deal with the US. Mr. Trump says if he becomes President, a trade deal between the UK and the US will be a priority. We talk to economist Irwin Stelzer of the Hudson Institute about whether a US-UK trade deal could be fast-tracked. Photo by John Sommers II/Getty Images.
