Talking to the honey hunting birds

Science In Action

Available for over a year

Fi Roberts explains how birds called Greater Honeyguides work with the Yao Tribe of Mozambique to show them where to find wild bee nests and their honey stores. New research shows that the birds respond more, and are more likely to find a hive when the human honey-hunters use a special call reserved just for them.
