"Novelist Patricia Duncker, discusses George Eliot, her travels in Germany in the 19th century when she spent 8 months in the country and the music she refers to in her novels and diaries. Along side her on stage is Clare Walker-Gore of Trinity College, Cambridge, one of the academics selected last year by the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ and the Arts and Humanities Council to be a New Generation Thinker. The host is Anne McElvoy, who is a regular presenter of ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio 3’s Arts and Ideas programme Free Thinking and a journalist who writes for the London Evening Standard and the Economist."
