The Philosophy of Peanuts

Sunday Sequence

Available for over a year

When we think of religion we don't think of Snoopy - the cartoon beagle in the 'Peanuts' strip. It's hard to believe the cartoon characters - Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Linus, Lucy and the rest of the Peanuts gang, were created nearly 70 years ago by Charles Schultz. The humour - often sarcasm - the honesty, the seriousness of Lucy, the inner thoughts of a beagle - have never seemed out of date. In a new book, "A Charlie Brown Religion", Stephen J Lind explores one of the topics Schulz laced throughout the cartoons - religion.
