The volunteers at the heart of the action

Today In Rio

Available for over a year

The last medals have been handed out and the closing ceremony is over. In Rio, people are reflecting on the first games to be held in Latin America - especially the army of volunteers who mobilised to make the games happen. The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s Ben James has been speaking to two volunteers who were right at the heart of the action, looking after the athletes in those crucial few minutes before the starting gun fired. Sheila Mamona told him about her experience. (Image: Rio 2016 volunteers Credit: Ed Jones/AFP/Getty Images)
