Alan Green: Allardyce ‘morally bankrupt’

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

The England boss had his contract terminated by the FA by mutual consent last night, after he was caught - by Daily Telegraph journalists - agreeing a £400 thousand pound deal with undercover reporters, and advising them how they could beat FA rules on transfer deals. 5 live’s Alan Green said: “The position he took with the undercover sting was morally bankrupt. The sheer greed exhibited beggars belief.” Allardyce lasted just 67 days in the England role, which Gareth Southgate will now take over temporarily while the FA seek a new manager. “It was an atrocious misjudgement - challenging FA regulations, the body he works for, or rather, worked for,” Alan added. This clip is originally from 5 live Breakfast on Wednesday 28 September 2016.
