The United Nations Security Council is holding an urgent meeting on the worsening violence in Syria. The US is blaming the Russians. Britain's ambassador, Matthew Rycroft says the joint peace effort by the US and Russia "is very, very near the end of its life". The UN says the Syrian government offensive against Aleppo had unleashed new horrors. Professor Paul Rogers is based at the Department of Peace Studies at Bradford University, and gives his reaction to the crisis in the following interview with ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ presenter Ajmal Hussain
