The Saudi government introduces sweeping public sector reforms to reduce its budget deficit. One of the measures announced will change the calendar used to calculate public sector employees' salaries away from being linked to the Islamic "Hijri" calendar, and will instead link it to the Gregorian one. Dan Damon spoke to Professor Joseph Kechichian, Senior Fellow at the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies in Riyadh.
