In times gone by, it was quite normal to spend your life and career in the service of a noble family in a great house. Times have changed though and the role of Housekeeper or Valet is less common today. The head of the house, downstairs at least, was always the Butler. But, there is an opening right now, for the right person to take on the role at arguably Leicestershire's most important and prestigious house. The Duke & Duchess of Rutland are currently looking for a Trainee Butler at Belvoir Castle. Intrigued at the prospect, Jim Davis went to meet Grace Milham, the castle's commercial director & Caroline Rayson, Castle Manager, who showed him round.
