Astronaut Tim Peake opens space thruster facility

World Business Report

Available for over a year

Astronaut Tim Peake put a rocket under the UK space industry today. He was guest of honour at an event to launch a specialist factory in Belfast, Northern Ireland, that will manufacture state-of-the-art electric thrusters to power satellites into orbit. The French company Thales claims the technology will be a game changer for the industry. Susannah Streeter spoke to Thales's chief executive Victor Chavez, and asked him to explain what the thrusters look like, and how they work. (Picture: Tim Peake speaking at the launch event.
