What’s it like to tell someone they’re a Premium Bonds millionaire?

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

It has now been 60 years since Premium Bonds were introduced in the UK. It is a government backed savings scheme where you can win cash prizes instead of interest. There have been 350 millionaire winners over the years and more than 21 million customers hold over £63 billion worth of Premium Bonds. If you’re lucky enough to win you will get a knock on the door from someone known as ‘Agent Millionaire,’ whose job it is to knock on doors and tell people they’ve won a million pounds. She told 5 live Drive that “everybody’s very shocked,” when they get a knock on the door. “It’s lovely, it’s a really nice part of the job.” “It’s a really unique job and it’s quite a privilege to be able to do it.” This clip is originally from 5 live Drive on 1 November 2016.
