Meyer: India are 'very tough negotiators'

Westminster Hour

Available for over a year

Sir Christopher Meyer, who once worked as a trade negotiator and went to India on many occasions with the then Foreign Secretary, Geoffrey Howe, said a trade package with India would be a 'monstrously huge deal, but monstrously difficult'. Speaking on the Westminster Hour about the Prime Minister's three-day trade visit to India, the former UK Ambassador to the US said that the Indian delegation 'wouldn't give you anything unless they got something back in return'.
