Toblerone change upsets fans

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ OS

Available for over a year

The Swiss chocolate created in 1908 by Theodor Tobler has decided to space out its distinctive triangular chocolate chunks in two Toblerone bars sold in the UK – upsetting fans in the process. Mondelez International, the company behind the product, has increased the gap between the peaks to reduce the weight of the 400g and 170g bars, saying the move was to ‘keep the product affordable for our customers’ following an increase in the cost of ingredients. As ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Business Reporter Alex Ritson explains, ‘shrink-flation’ is the new trend. Photo: New Toblerone bar
