The Proms Youth Choir performing with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, conducted by Marin Alsop. The Proms Youth Choir is a choir made up of young singers from across the UK who have come through the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Music Ten Pieces scheme. The Requiem had its British premiere in 1875 at the Royal Albert Hall with the composer himself conducting and it is still packing the audiences in. Its fire and brimstone depiction of death and destruction never fails to appeal, most famously of all in the tumultuous Dies Irae. First broadcast: Radio 3, 9 September 2016.
