Will Labour back Article 50?

Westminster Hour

Available for over a year

Labour MP Alison McGovern says MPs have a 'special duty' to listen to Remain constituents. Asked if Labour would back the triggering of Article 50 - the formal process to begin EU exit negotiations - she said: "My constituency voted Remain and I have spoken to my constituents and said that I will consult with them and talk with them when we know what we are voting on". The MP for Wirral South told the Westminster Hour's Carolyn Quinn that MPs representing constituencies that voted Remain have a "special duty" to listen to constituents "on both sides of the argument".
