'Humane, sensitive and entertaining'

Westminster Hour

Available for over a year

Westminster reacts to Ed Balls' departure from Strictly Come Dancing. Speaking to the Westminster Hour's Carolyn Quinn, the former Liberal Democrat MP and Business Secretary Vince Cable said: 鈥淗e emerged as a really rather likeable character, which was not the stereotype that people had of him beforehand. I think that鈥檚 why people voted for him. He was perfectly humane, quite sensitive and entertaining." Labour MP Rachel Reeves, who served under Ed Balls as shadow chief secretary to the Treasury, said: "There鈥檚 certainly still a place for him in the political debate. It鈥檚 up to him to decide what his future is but it鈥檚 been great fun watching him in Strictly. I think the public have seen a side of him that they didn鈥檛 see before.鈥
