NSPCC appeal for volunteers on the Isle of Wight

Julian Clegg

Available for over a year

A children's charity is making an urgent appeal for volunteers to teach children on the Isle of Wight how to speak out against abuse. The NSPCC says the service is delivered by specially trained volunteers but there are none currently on the Island. Its 'Speak Out, Stay Safe' programme has been delivered to more than 2,500 children at half the island's schools. But the charity says it's becoming increasingly difficult to visit all the schools it needs to. ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Solent's Neil Sackley has been to Nine Acres Community Primary School in Newport, the first school on the Island to have the programme delivered to younger children.
