Victoria Wood: Why I moved to North London

Local ѿý Radio Special

Available for over a year

"I had to live near the M1 so I could get out", Victoria Wood joked in an interview with radio presenter Nicky Campbell. Despite being described as a “quintessentially northern” comic, Victoria Wood left Lancashire and moved to the capital with her husband and their two children in the early Nineties. She denied betraying her roots – saying she wanted to be nearer to where most of her work was. Asked whether she worried about her children becoming dependent on their nanny, she said: "I make a point of seeing them at least once a week, for at least 10 minutes."
