Camber Sands: 'Anybody can die there'

Sussex Breakfast

Available for over a year

A teenager whose father died at Camber Sands in July is calling for the beach to be closed to swimmers until safety can be guaranteed. In his first radio interview, Ankush Dupar has been telling ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Sussex how his father went to help another swimmer who’d got into difficulty. Both men lost their lives. Mohit Dupar was one of seven people who lost their lives at Camber Sands in East Sussex this summer. Ankush believes his dad would be alive today if lifeguards had been present. Rother District Council says a three-mile stretch of beach is impossible to keep risk-free but they’ll review all options at the beach for next season.
