Raised in Ibiza, anthropologist Nicholas' grandmother is Spanish, and his Grandfather, on the other side of the family, is Scottish. Whilst he always knew that his grandfather served in WWII, he found out only a few years ago that his Spanish Grandmother had siblings who lost their lives during the Spanish Civil War.
