The Council is a formal body of advisers to Her Majesty the Queen. Richard Benyon MP, Newbury: "It's something that's given to cabinet ministers, which I'm not, or senior members of the opposition, which I'm not - but it's also given to senior back benchers. "I sit on a thing called the Intelligence and Security committee. "I got a very nice telephone call from the honours office.
