Sian and Harry – Grieving Together and Apart

The Listening Project

Available for over a year

Sian and Harry live in Stranraer. Harry is a play consultant and Sian is a mum and gardener. They have two children - Rowan and Erin. They lost their middle child - Euan - 18 months prior to this conversation. The community helped them to establish a play park called 'Euan's Playspace' in his memory, but they're still coping with the grief of his loss. Euan was a bright, caring boy who was always keen to be involved with jobs around the house; sewing seeds in the greenhouse or hammering wood. He liked rough and tumble games with his big brother Rowan, but cared for his little sister Erin too. He also loved playing superheroes with friend Joni. Euan was 4 and a half when he died on 8th Jan 2015. His death was caused by unpreventable complications arising from the chicken pox virus.
