Ruby Wax: Carrie Fisher's 'genius' was in comedy writing

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

Comedian Ruby Wax says Carrie Fisher should be remembered for her comedy writing as well as her acting skills. The Star Wars actress died aged 60 after suffering a cardiac arrest. Speaking to 5 live Daily's Adrian Chiles, Ruby Wax said "all this labelling doesn't matter... nobody could ever write like that as far as comedy. This girl was a genius - you know that's what she was - she wasn't such a great actress compared with what she could write like, and that was her gift... it was like a genius painter in front of you, but she was doing it with words." This clip is originally from 5 live Daily on Wednesday 28 December 2016.
