Young people with learning disabilities are finding it harder to go to night clubs and music concerts, according to the charity Mencap. Kelsey Ramsey has learning disabilities, dyslexia and dyspraxia and says she is scared of going to concerts and clubs. She described the verbal abuse she received while working at a music festival. She said: 鈥淎 man in a wheelchair called me a retard every time I walked past 鈥 it made me nervous about everyone I walked past the whole week I was there.鈥 鈥淚 wish he had been a bit more understanding, because my learning difficulties are hidden, you can鈥檛 see them by looking at me,鈥 she added. One in four people surveyed by the charity said they have been bullied on a night out, while a third said they have been afraid of staff at gigs and clubs. This clip is originally from 5 live Breakfast on Friday 30 December 2016.
