Supersonic flight targeted once again

World Business Report

Available for over a year

Would you like to fly faster than the speed of sound? Or to put it in more practical terms, would you like to be able to fly from London to New York in under four hours? It used to be possible to do both; if you had the money, you'd simply step on board Concorde. But Concorde stopped flying in 2003, and has never been replaced. Yet with several private firms now working on brand new supersonic designs, the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s Theo Leggett asks if we might go back to the future. (Picture: Concorde. Picture credit: Getty Images.)
