What could Brexit mean for air pollution?

Westminster Hour

Available for over a year

Justine Thornton QC: EU law plays an "absolutely crucial" role in protecting public health. Speaking to the Westminster Hour's Sam Maccrory, the environmental law specialist said: "It's not clear to me that we will continue to ratchet up those standards, and if we don't, that could lead to a weakening of our environmental protection." Ms Thornton added: "[Air pollution] is killing people, we mustn't forget that as we think about what post-Brexit Britain looks like".
