The work will eventually be part of a new cross-Berkshire cycle route. Cris Butler, Reading Borough Council's Strategic Transport Programme Manager: "The project itself has been a longtime in the making, we've been working very hard with our partners because it's a joint scheme running through from Windsor through from Newbury, and Reading onbviously is a part of that. "There is an investment of £1.2 million to improve cycling. "In general it will be very well received from existing users and new users."
