They say most of the extra money will be put towards looking after older residents. Councillor MJ Saunders: "Average Band D Council tax goes from about £907 to £916, and the Adult Social Care Levy goes from £18 to £46. So that's a total next year of £961. "Over the last eight years, we've increased council tax by less than inflation. "I'd rather leave the money in the pockets of my residents and take it off them when I need it."
