Dani and James met when James directed Dani in a theatre production in their early 20s. A close friendship followed, which was proven when Dani moved to London to attend RADA and developed an eating disorder. She credits James with being one of the few people who confronted her about her illness, rather than pretending it wasn't happening. When James moved to Sussex, Dani moved there not long after. During their conversation James reveals that this move to Brighton gave him some struggles with his sexuality. They then discover they both used similar methods to deal with their issues.
