Lewis: I could "step up" to lead Labour

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

Former frontbencher Clive Lewis says he would "step up" and lead the Labour party, if he felt that was the best way to serve his country. Mr Lewis quit Jeremy Corbyn's shadow cabinet in protest against his decision to force Labour MPs to vote in favour of triggering Article 50. But Mr Lewis says he is not planning to challenge Mr Corbyn now. This clip is originally from Pienaar's Politics on Sunday March 5, 2017.
