Life as a disabled woman in India

Woman's Hour

Available for over a year

To mark International Women’s Day 2017, we hear a snapshot of women’s lives around the world as they tell us what's on their minds. Quadriplegic, Preethi is 36-years-old and from the Tamil Nadu province of India. She used to be a successful cricketer in her youth until an accident transformed her life. Preethi says disabled women are still stigmatised in India and explains why helping to change lives for other women with spinal cord injuries is so important to her.
