Despite losing their last game 8-0, Maidenhead United coach Sam Lock knew Bishop's Stortford would be a difficult side to overcome. "When a team loses 8 nil, they're going to have a bit of bounce-back-ability, they're going to work hard with a new manager coming in. "Their new manager has come in and set them up a bit differently...they work very hard and they made us fight for it." And Lock was also full of praise for the team spirit in this Maidenhead side. "We've believed since the start that we can do it...our team spirit and attitude in training, the camaraderie together is outstanding, it's a really special group of players."
