Will self-driving vehicles benefit everyone?

Anne Diamond

Available for over a year

Anne Diamond chatted to Andrew Miller, Chief Technical Officer at the Thatcham Research Laboratory about autonomous vehicles, and how they could benefit all of us in the future. Andrew Miller, Chief Technical Officer: "Many of the manufacturers are looking at highly connected vehicles, looking at local mapping...others are really taking a trajectory where the vehicle builds a virtual map in its brain. "I think we'll see a convergence over time towards an ideal solution. "The Chinese manufacturing community are doing a lot of work in this area, the Americans, you've of course got Tesla and Google - the big computer companies are stepping up as well."
