Ten years of the smoking ban: has it improved our lives?

Radio 4 in Four

Available for over a year

Ten years on, the smoking ban in pubs and restaurants has become a fact of life. Since then there have been more laws which restrict the rights of smokers, like the ban on smoking in cars with children as passengers, for example. There’s talk of going further, some councils are debating the idea of extending the ban to the outdoors, which would mean places like parks and beer gardens. Peter White finds out more about the impact of the smoking ban and hears from Simon Hoban who speaks to some punters in a pub in Liverpool. First broadcast on You & Yours, 28 May 2017.
