FIFA fires corruption investigators

World Business Report

Available for over a year

They were tasked with investigating corruption in world football, but most of FIFA's top ethics team have now been told they won't continue in their roles. The officials include the former Chief Investigator Cornel Borbley and the adjudicator Hans Joachim Echert. At a press conference today, Mr Borbley has said the move had incapacitated FIFA and meant the organisation had lost years of know how and experience. The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s World Sports reporter Mani Djazmi was at the press conference and told Susannah Streeter that the two sacked officials were extremely angry.
