Synthetic "tongue" for whisky robot?

The Newsroom

Available for over a year

After robots take your job, they could start helping themselves to your favourite drinks. Scientists in Germany have created an artificial tongue that can pick out different qualities in whiskies, such as their brand, age and country of origin. Vintage whiskies can change hands for thousands of dollars - and fakes can be hard to detect without hiring expensive professional whisky tasters. The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s Alex Ritson got a second opinion at Cadenhead's whisky tasting room in London.
