ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Minute: On Nepal's 'menstrual huts'

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Minute

Available for over a year

Chhaupadi is a tradition amongst some religious groups in Nepal where women are banished to an outhouse during their periods. The practice has been questioned recently after a teenager died in one such 'menstruation hut' after she was bitten by a snake. We speak to Chanda Chaudhary from Restless Development, an NGO working towards breaking taboos surrounding menstruation in Nepal.
