Available for over a year

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Berkshire's Bill Buckley hears the story of a battle which cost almost a million soldiers their lives from the Maidenhead based Commonwealth War Graves Commission. Max Dutton, Commonwealth War Graves Commission: "The ultimate outcome is stalemate, continues. "There's all these lives involves, but our objectives were to take pressure off our allies. The German's aren't able to launch another attack anywhere else along the Western Front during this time, so to that extent it was a success. "What really stands up are the number of missing soldiers - they're just missing... we find around fifty men a year."
