This enchanting soundscape was recorded one bright summer's dawn in a small orchard near the village of Edge Hill, on the fringes of the Cotswolds. Listen out for the distinctive song of song thrushes, wrens, wood pigeons, rooks, crows, a chiffchaff, some angry blackbirds and a yaffle (AKA green woodpecker). Headphones recommended. This clip originally featured in Sounds of the Earth, a regular slot on Radio 3's weekend Breakfast show that pairs natural soundscapes from around the globe with music that reflects and complements them.
