The struggle to get driving lessons if you're autistic

Radio 4 in Four

Available for over a year

People on the autistic spectrum can sometimes take longer to learn to drive and to pass their test. That’s according to people who specialise in teaching them. The problem is that there aren’t many driving instructors who specialise in teaching people with special needs and it leaves some people struggling to find a driving instructor. Laura Taylor had that problem when she rang around driving schools in Liverpool looking for someone to teach her 24 year old son. Winifred Robinson finds out more. First broadcast on You & Yours, 31 July 2017.
