Adam Kashmiry transitioned from female to male and from living in Egypt to living in Scotland. He describes the lack of LGBT education in Egypt and the harassment and social isolation he faced, before seeking asylum in the UK. His story has since been dramatized by the National Theatre of Scotland and staged at the Edinburgh International Festival.
