Hear and Now

Available for over a year

The Irish composer, performer and conceptual artist Jennifer Walshe was a student in Chicago when her mother sent a care package labelled "Tape of family sounds: no value". Inside was a 45-minute cassette of sounds recorded in her childhood home. It was an artistic meeting of minds for mother and daughter, and the tape has been an inspiration and provided source material for Jennifer’s compositions ever since. Listen now. Jennifer Walshe's Sound of the Week featured on Hear and Now on 16 September 2017. Click through to listen to the entire episode.
