World Update

Available for over a year

The Sri Lankan government has confirmed that babies were traded illegally for adoption in the 1980s. The country's health minister confirmed the existence of this practice in an interview with Dutch current affairs programme Zembla. Norbert Reintjens, a researcher on the documentary, told Paul Henley about how these so-called 'baby farms' operated. (Photo: Baby in mother's arms. Credit: Getty Images)
