Retired nurses Valarie and Linda started careers at the NHS in the late sixties. Valerie worked at HRI when it was first opened by the Queen in June 1967 on the mixed surgical ward, one of the first mixed wards in the region. Linda worked on the baby ward when she first came to HRI in 1972. They met in 2001 when they worked together on the Chest Clinic at HRI remaining friends ever since. Produced by David Reeves
