Re-imagining Brass with Jeremy Deller

Mary Anne Hobbs

Available for over a year

Artist Jeremy Deller reflects on his 1997 Acid Brass project. Twenty years ago, Deller persuaded the Williams Fairey Band to play a repertoire of acid house music, as a way of bringing together "two authentic forms of folk art rooted in specific communities". The band have since played all over the world, including with The KLF, and the experience of working with them, Deller says, has been 'liberating'.
