Mackenzie Crook on Detectorists

Stephen Foster

Available for over a year

Mackenzie Crook says he does not know why he set his TV series Detectorists in Essex, when it is filmed in Suffolk. He told Stephen Foster that Suffolk provided the best settings - and apologised for not changing the location of the fictional town of Danebury to Suffolk after deciding to film in the county. He also said people in the town of Framlingham, where it is shot, could not be nicer and are used to the limelight because of famous resident, Ed Sheeran.
